Dear Bombastarr, Hi Karla! I just read your latest blog post. I can totally relate to everything you just said (LOL, how can I not relate, I'm a Literature major myself.)
People in other courses ALWAYS underestimate our course (although the name of your program seems better compared to ours which is just mere AB-Literature). It requires tedious reading and writing, critical thinking, and appreciation of different kinds of reads are the three main things that I'd always remember about my course. I honestly kind of regret taking this course because I am no good at all, I just like to read and uhh, write (ever since we took up literary theories, my classmates and I have doubted our writing skills.) But there are perks especially if you like pop culture because you can actually "close read" stuff that "normal people" cannot really see. That's one of the things I'm most thankful for about my course. :)

I totally agree with you, Ate Patty. People fail to see the weight of our course because they feel like it's only secondary compared to the scientific fields. But what they don't understand is we probably work twice as hard as they do because we do a lot of reading, writing, and analyzing. And yeah, I love how I can really "read between the lines" now -- it makes me feel geeky and smart. LOL! :)) Thanks Ate Patty, I really missed you! :)
