Where's the best place to eat in UP Diliman?

Quite a lot actually! For the ultimate UP food trip, you must try out the famous Rodic's tapsilog. It is not a legitimate trip to UP without that. And then of course, the famed Diliman isaw at Mang Larry's located at the back of College of Law. For fishballs and squidballs, I frequent the back of Shopping Center, beside the Coop. As of late however, the growing number of stalls along J. P. Laurel St. (somewhere near the Post Office, in Area 2) has made it an easy pick for quick and cheap meals. For Filipino home-cooked meals and fruit shakes, you can go to L.B. (Lutong Bahay) or L.K.B. (Lutong Kapitbahay) - I kid you not. There are other stores there too, like siomai, milk tea, and scramble stands. But each college has his/her own "specialty" - FA siomai, CAL taho, CMC Long Island, AS dirty ice cream and sweet corn, etc. etc. -- it should be extremely fun trying them all out if you have the time!

Of course I would, but only if you are incredibly passionate about reading and writing all kinds of things - because you will never survive if you tremble at the thought of reading books that are not on display at National or Fully Booked. Being in CW is a lot of work because it's a very personal, individual course: your only ally (and enemy) is your self - if you don't find the strength to read and to write, if you slack off, if you don't find a way to get the creative juices flowing, then you get nothing. So unless you are truly devoted to it, it can be pretty tough. But if you're sure you are willing to slave yourself off to the written word, then by all means, go for it! I promise you, it is worth it. :)

Trisha, is this you!? Oh God, I suddenly remembered that moment all over again! Haha. Yes, I've actually seen this before already, in fact I have it bookmarked - just to remind myself why I shouldn't feel bad about being the sometimes-anti-social, homebody, nerdy girl that I am.

how would you describe your writing style? and who are your writing style icons? - ANON

I've only been writing seriously for about three years and I think that it is too short a time for anyone to be able to completely identify with a definite kind of style. However, as I've mentioned before I enjoy reading (and as a result, writing) about the small, mundane moments of everyday life, which makes it no surprise that I find naturalism more interesting than most other types. As for writing icons, there are a lot of them from different genres doing different styles that I find incredibly brilliant and moving: David Foster Wallace and Miranda July, top my list of favorite fictionists. As for local writers, I find Estrella Alfon's hand at fiction truly impeccable. Also Gregorio Brillantes. Meanwhile, Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo, Gilda Cordero-Fernando, and Butch Dalisay are my creative nonfiction heroes.

Dear Bombastarr, what do you do to stop feeling insecure? You seem like a girl who is confident and never feels pessimistic.

Oh how wrong you are, reader! I do have days, quite a lot actually, when I just feel like I am the most horrible creature on the planet. And sometimes it never truly goes away, you know? The best I can do is just shrug my shoulders and say "Oh well!" It doesn't make the negative feelings disappear, but at least on some level I remind myself the world goes on despite my insecurities - might as well just brush them off, even for a while, just to keep me going.

Dear Bombastarr, I just wanna know, anong klase ang thesis for CW major? Is it like a research/study on some lit topic, a folio of your works in a chosen genre or what?

It's a combination of both. I shall answer this in full detail in the blog entry I am to write after this. I feel like this question deserves to be answered in an entire post :)
