Thank you so much. We just celebrated (not sure if that's the right word) my grandmother's 40th day of passing over the weekend. It was nice being with family again and to be reminded that not all is wrong in the world, even if we were missing one face in particular.

Dear Bombastarr, having read your entry about your thesis made me look back to the book I recently read. If you haven't heard about it, Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo's Recuerdo might be of interest to you as it was to me. Good luck on the rest of your senior year!
Yes, I have heard of that book and was actually considering it as part of my related literature. Although our thesis adviser for 199 suggested that I don't since it's a novel/work of fiction, while my work is primarily on creative nonfiction. I'm still planning to look into it, though. Thanks for your suggestion! :)

Dear Bombastarr, is there any story or poem you wish you wrote yourself?

There are a lot, trust me. Off the top of my head right now are "Shrimp Moves" by Ricardo De Ungria and "The Gaze" by Arvin Abejo Mangohig for poetry, and "Passengers" by Luis Katigbak for short fiction.

I remember my professor in my lit crit class sharing her experience of wanting to cry after reading something truly beautiful and I just want to say I always feel that way whenever I read your blog.
